From the Series: This series includes materials relating to each president and interim president from Frederick A. Muhlenberg in 1867 through Kathleen Harring in 2022, including biographical background, selection, inauguration, correspondence, achievements, and resignation/retirement from office.

Includes programs, emails, documents, newspaper clippings, legal papers, interviews, addresses, speeches, and personal letters.

Extent

From the Collection: 50 Linear Feet (The bulk of the printed material (previously the vertical files) is contained in flip-top document cases. Textiles, memorabilia, and other realia is stored in appropriate lidded boxes.)

Salaries for summer school teaching 1939; appointment to teach not renewed 1951; "MC Views Its Primary Objective" - a statement concerning religious influences and teaching at MC; centennial history of college will be published;

Tyson establishes a President's Fund for funds he expends on behalf of college 1939; Memo to Dean Horn suggests a public relations committee; Tyson letter regarding use of Jewish Community Center pool, and cost to do so - 1943; wants College to publish a centennial history of the college;

2/27/44: baccalaureate speaker - Rev. Paul Z. Strodach; Commander Lamb to receive honorary degree; commencement speaker - Admiral Wat Tyler Cluverius; many unsatisfactory Navy students in physics and math;

Tyson wants cost analysis form from each faculty member (sample from Robert Horn attached); Tyson correspondence to Alvin W. Hartzell that General's statue should be covered for the winter 1944;

Personal correspondence with William Taylor of NY, and mention of victory ship "Muhlenberg" soon to be launched in Baltimore 1945; Tyson letter to Dr. Charles Trexler asking if Trexler is interested in new position as Veterans' Counselor 1947;

Tyson letter regarding financial burden in post-war enrollment
