From the Collection: 50 Linear Feet (The bulk of the printed material (previously the vertical files) is contained in flip-top document cases. Textiles, memorabilia, and other realia is stored in appropriate lidded boxes.)
April 19, 1939: Changes in Biology Department for 1939-'40: new instructor will be Mr. John Trainer, currently working at Cornell for the Ph.D. degree. He will have charge of the courses in Anatomy, General Biology, Genetics, and Zoology laboratory work. Photography will also be included in the regular schedule of courses. This was a prerequisite for this positon.
November 14, 1948 letter from Presdient Levering Tyson recommending promotion of Dr. John Trainer to rank of associate professor, first incumbent of this rank.
November 15, 1950 letter from President Levering Tyson to Trainer that he is advanced to Professor of Biology.
Dr. Trainer, esteemed Biology professor, served Muhlenberg for 40 years.
