Scope and Contents

The collection contains two series. The first, collected between 1972-1987, contains thirty interviews with members of the College's faculty and staff. The second series, collected in 1979-1980, contains six interviews with Muhlenberg students from the classes of 1980 and 1981.

Conditions Governing Use

The recordings are on cassette tapes. Most have been digitized and are available upon request. On a continuing basis, we are publishing interviews publicly; they may be accessed through the Trexler Library / Special Collections website.

Biographical / Historical

This collection of oral histories relating to Muhlenberg College was named in honor of librarian John S. Davidson (serving 1940-1973), who had long held the idea to collect such memories. The project was spearheaded by Dr. Katherine S. Van Eerde (History).
