From the Collection: 50 Linear Feet (The bulk of the printed material (previously the vertical files) is contained in flip-top document cases. Textiles, memorabilia, and other realia is stored in appropriate lidded boxes.)

Muhlenberg Student Education Association is installed on campus 2/12/59.

Education and Psychology are separated into two departments (undated). Two new Professors have been added: Professor David K. Spelt (Psychology) and Professor Milton H. Steinhauer (Education). National Council for Accrediatation of Teacher Education released new standards which require colleges to account for their graduates' performance as schoolteachers, to provide adequate financing for teacher training, and to collaborate with elementary and secondary schools.
