From the Collection: 50 Linear Feet (The bulk of the printed material (previously the vertical files) is contained in flip-top document cases. Textiles, memorabilia, and other realia is stored in appropriate lidded boxes.)

From the 1948 Ciarla article titled 'PUBLICATIONS' -"The publication now known as the WEEKLY came into existence in 1883, as the Muhlenberg Monthly. In 1888 the name of the paper was changed to simply The Muhlenberg. Finally, in 1914, the paper began publishing on a weekly schduele and was renamedd the Muhlenberg WEEKLY. During all these years of its formation, and up to the present time, the publication of the WEEKLY has never once been suspended."

4/13/1936 - The Muhlenberg Weekly Constitution, original document and carbon copy of the same. Signed by Alvin H. Butz, Jr., (Editor-in-Chief), Carl J.W. Hessinger (Business Manage), Anthony S. Corbiere (Faculty Supervisor).

The Muhlenberg Weekly editorial, 11/06/1942 - 'Columnist's Candid Confessions" by Harold W. Helfrich states Muhlenberg coddles its students and demands too many restriction.

11/10-11/16/1950 - correspondence between President Tyson and Marvic E. Berger, Editor-in-Chief regarding controversial editorial column 'Mule Kicks' signed by ex-G.I.'s.

Evening Chronicle newspaper clipping, 3/13/1964 - 'Berg Weekly elects first female editor, Blakelyn D. Dempster.

7/19/1996, Personal letter from Richard G. Miller, Jr. to Dick (of the Call-Chronicle staff, possibly Dick Cowen), regarding writings shared and the beginning of coeducation at Muhlenberg.

3/30/1998 - Morning Call newspaper article with photo "'Berg yanks student paper from the college's Web site." Sophomore Heather Marko says Muhlenberg officials asked her to retract statements she made in an editorial that ran in The Morning Call and The Weekly, the college's student newspaper.

4/21/1998 - copy of article by Molly Burckhardt, in the Brown and White, "Muhlenberg newspaper yanked from WEb site: College officals revoke publication's online privileges amid coverage of controversial topics".
