Biographical / Historical
Alexander Doty (1954-2012) was a professor of film and media culture at Lehigh University and Indiana University Bloomington. Alex grew up in West Texas and earned his BA from University of Texas El-Paso. He also gained a MA and PHD from University of Illinois-Urbana. Throughout his career, he wrote several books including "Making Things Perfectly Queer" and "Flaming Classics: Queering the Film Cannon". He also sat on the board of the Kinsey Institute at IU. Before his untimely death, he was working on a book titled "The Monstrous and the Medieval".
